Manasa Sunkara is a photographer based in Hyderabad, India.
Drawn to People, Places, Spaces, and Things, her work is rooted in documentary-style portraiture, shaped by a nomadic childhood where images and stories made every move feel a little more like home. With a focus on light, space, and originality, she creates intimate portraits that feel candid yet intentional, using subtle direction to bring out the truest version of her subjects.
Alongside her work as a full-time imagemaker, she runs Manvataar Studio, a creative studio specialising in brand strategy, photography, and sound, and continues to explore storytelling beyond the frame. When she’s not shooting, you’ll likely find her reading or spending a slow afternoon baking an elaborate chocolate soufflé.
Her home base is India, though she works out of London and the Middle East from time to time.
